Fire on the Mountain

The story of God’s people is really the story of two mountains.  After the Exodus, they arrive at Mt. Sinai, but nothing about God’s presence said, “You are welcome to come to me.”  Fire, thunder, darkness–the whole scene said, “Enter at your own risk.”  Sometimes we feel that way when we’ve sinned.  But through Jesus’ time on another mountain–Calvary–we’ve got open access to our Father.
